Cardiff West Community High School

wellbeing support

Cardiff West Community High School is a very caring and highly supportive school that values all young people. We believe that happy, healthy and safe pupils will succeed in school and in life and we work tirelessly to provide the environment and guidance necessary for all pupils to achieve their very best outcomes. Learning and Ethos Officers work closely with the Progress Leaders, providing care, support and guidance to pupils every day and are the first point of contact for parents.

Learning and Ethos Officers together with School Attendance & Safeguarding Officers also support young people and their families with challenges connected to coming to school and being on time.

MEET THE TEAM

Hi I’m Dan Marsh,

I am the school Mental Health Practitioner.

I offer 1-2-1 and small group mental health and well-being support to students across the school in all year groups, in both mainstream and provisions. My practice is bespoke to each student and is centred around their strengths, what they enjoy doing, and all sessions come from a trauma informed lens, with the idea of helping students understand their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours better. I have previously worked within the Provisions team and as part of a year group team in Mainstream in Cardiff West and have extensive experience supporting students with their mental health and well-being.
